Tell us what matters to you
We’ll listen to your symptoms, your health history and the everyday activities you’d like to feel more comfortable doing.
More comfortable movement starts with care that understands you. At Axis Chiropractic, our spinal decompression service uses gentle flexion-distraction to support back comfort and everyday mobility.
Slow, controlled movements on a specialised table allow your clinician to guide treatment around your needs. We’ll help you feel at ease, explain the approach and connect your care with the activities that matter to you.

Flexion-distraction is a hands-on technique using a specialised table with moving sections. Your clinician supports your spine while guiding the table through small, controlled movements, creating a gentle stretching and mobilisation approach.
At Axis, this is the technique used in our non-surgical spinal decompression service. The pace and range are tailored to you, with time to settle comfortably and share how the treatment feels.
If back discomfort makes sitting, bending or moving through your day less comfortable, we’re here to help you explore the next step. We’ll listen to your story and assess your movement, health history and goals.
Flexion-distraction may form part of care for selected people with lower back pain, stiffness or disc-related symptoms. If you experience sciatica, we’ll include appropriate nerve checks and explain how your findings guide the plan.
Our goals are practical and personal: sitting more comfortably, moving with greater ease and gradually returning to the activities you enjoy.
We’ll guide you onto the table, explain the movements and begin at a pace that suits you. Your clinician stays involved throughout, adjusting the approach in response to your comfort.
Potential aims of care include:
We’ll review your symptoms and everyday function together so your treatment continues to reflect your progress and priorities.
We’ll listen to your symptoms, your health history and the everyday activities you’d like to feel more comfortable doing.
Your clinician will assess your back and any nerve-related symptoms, explain the findings and talk through a personalised plan.
We’ll guide you through the table setup and use slow, controlled movements, checking your comfort along the way.
We’ll share exercises and activity advice, review your progress and agree on helpful next steps.
Hands-on care and practical movement advice can work together. We may combine flexion-distraction with tailored exercises, chiropractic care or physiotherapy to support the way you sit, move, work and exercise.
Your plan can grow with you. We’ll share manageable steps to practise at home and make time for questions at each visit.

Our spinal decompression service uses external, hands-on flexion-distraction on a specialised treatment table. It is a non-surgical approach. Your clinician will explain how it fits your individual assessment and existing medical advice.
If you’ve been told you have a slipped or bulging disc, we’ll assess your symptoms and talk through how conservative care may support your comfort and movement. Bring any existing reports so we can consider them alongside your examination.
You’ll usually feel slow, gentle movement or stretching as your clinician guides the table. We’ll check in with you throughout, adjust the pace and range around your comfort, and explain what to expect afterwards.
Yes, you’re welcome to book an assessment. We’ll listen to your symptoms, check your movement and nerve function, and help you understand the care options that fit your needs.
Please tell us about fractures, osteoporosis, infection, cancer, spinal instability, recent surgery or changing nerve symptoms. Sharing your history helps us choose suitable care and arrange referral where needed.
Once we’ve assessed you, we’ll talk through a suggested plan and a review point. We’ll check how your symptoms and daily activities are changing and agree on any further care together.
X-rays are not mandatory for your first visit. If clinically indicated, we’ll recommend them after your initial consultation and chiropractic treatment, explain how they can help guide your care, and talk you through the arrangements and any additional cost. Please bring any existing scan reports you already have.
Please seek urgent medical attention for new bladder or bowel difficulties, loss of feeling around the groin or saddle area, or rapidly worsening leg weakness. These symptoms need immediate medical assessment rather than a routine decompression appointment.
We’d love to hear how we can help. Tell us what’s been bothering you or what you’d like to get back to, and our team will help you arrange a first visit at our Tanjong Pagar clinic.
