We’ll listen to your concerns, ask about your health and previous care, and assess the area that’s troubling you.
If discomfort is making movement harder, we’ll help you explore the care options in a way that feels clear and manageable. Low level laser therapy may be one part of that conversation after an assessment.
We’ll explain how the treatment works, what the research suggests and how it could fit alongside your rehabilitation, with time for your questions.

Low level laser therapy, sometimes called cold laser therapy, uses selected wavelengths and doses of light applied to an area of the body. It is a form of photobiomodulation, a term for light-based treatment intended to influence biological responses.
This differs from surgical lasers and cosmetic hair-removal treatments. The name cold laser refers to the treatment approach, rather than freezing the skin. We’ll explain the equipment, intended use and precautions relevant to your care.
For some musculoskeletal concerns, your clinician may discuss laser alongside other options. We’ll first listen to your symptoms, assess the area and consider your health history and goals.
Together, we’ll talk through whether the treatment could be a useful addition, or whether exercise, another approach or medical review would better support you. You’ll have a clear explanation of why we’re suggesting each part of your plan.
Research suggests possible short-term pain benefits for some conditions, with results varying by diagnosis, device, wavelength and dose. That means findings for one treatment don’t necessarily apply to another.
We’ll discuss realistic goals and check whether treatment is helping with the activities that matter to you. Laser may form one part of your care alongside rehabilitation and any medical treatment you need. We’ll review how it’s helping and explore the next step together if you’d benefit from a different approach.
We’ll listen to your concerns, ask about your health and previous care, and assess the area that’s troubling you.
We’ll explain the options and relevant precautions. Please mention medicines, light sensitivity, pregnancy, cancer or previous treatment in the area so we can plan thoughtfully.
If laser is suitable and you’d like to go ahead, we’ll explain each step and follow the equipment’s eye-protection and safety requirements. Let us know how you feel throughout.
We’ll discuss activity advice and a time to check your progress. Any further treatment will reflect how you’re responding and the goals we’ve agreed together.
Where laser is suitable, we may use it alongside exercises, movement advice or another treatment tailored to your needs. Building strength and returning gradually to activity remain important parts of your plan.
Our chiropractic and physiotherapy team can help you understand how the options fit together. We’ll listen to your preferences and answer your questions so you can choose what you feel comfortable with.

They are different treatments, with different equipment, settings and purposes. We’ll be happy to explain the laser therapy being discussed for your musculoskeletal care.
Low level laser treatment is not intended to cut tissue or rely on strong heating. Sensations can vary with the device and settings. Please let us know straight away if you feel too much warmth, pain or discomfort so we can check.
Protecting your eyes is an important part of laser care because laser light can cause harm. We’ll explain and follow the protection and room precautions required for the equipment, including those for anyone in the treatment area.
We’ll consider your symptoms, the treatment area, the equipment and your health history together. Please tell us about light sensitivity, medicines, pregnancy or a cancer diagnosis so we can discuss the precautions and suitable options.
After your assessment, we’ll talk through a suggested schedule based on your needs and the treatment protocol. We’ll also agree on when to review progress and decide whether more sessions would be helpful.
Keep following your agreed rehabilitation and medical plan, including prescribed medicines unless your prescriber advises a change. If we add laser, we’ll explain how it fits alongside your existing care.
Laser systems vary in power, wavelength, dose and safety requirements. We’ll explain the system being discussed for you and the evidence relevant to it, so the options feel clearer.
We’ll agree on something meaningful to work towards, such as more comfortable walking or managing a daily task. At your review, we’ll discuss how you’re feeling and whether continuing, adjusting or changing the plan would help.
We’d love to hear how we can help. Tell us what’s been bothering you or what you’d like to get back to, and our team will help you arrange a first visit at our Tanjong Pagar clinic.
